Spain point guard Jose Manuel Calderon is making a quick recovery from his appendix operation.

Calderon, who will be the point guard for his country at Eurobasket 2005 in Serbia & Montenegro, has not played since being hit by appendicitis on May 28.

He felt ill while in Madrid and was raced to hospital where he had his appendix removed.

Calderon says that when he does begin playing again, he will not be 100% game fit.

"The injury has still not scarred over and whatever happens, I will notice my lack of activity in the past weeks," he said.

"I have been doing weights but of course nothing that makes me work my abdominal muscles."
