PLAYER PROFILE

Career: MKS Wrzesnia (Poland-Youth Team, 1997-99), SMS PZKosz. Warka (Poland-Div. 2, 1999-2002), SMS PZKosz. Warka (Poland-Div. 1, 2002-03), Polonia Warszawa (Poland-Div. 1, 2003-06), Turow Zgorzelec (Poland-Div. 1, 2006-07)

Koszarek is one of a group of talented young guns in Poland’s team. Like several other members of the team he grew up at the Polish Basketball Federation’s school, SMS. He is an aggressive playmaker, with a quick first step, a very good shooting touch and excellent penetrating and passing skills. He learned a lot from an experienced and smart American player Eric Elliott, while playing in Warsaw, and from Polonia coach Wojciech Kaminski. He made his National Team debut in 2004 but his talent really blossomed in last year’s qualification round. Many think Koszarek needs more playing time to live up to his talent.
