Italy international Gianmarco Pozzecco has parted company with Climamio Bologna.
The point guard, a key player in Italy's silver-medal winning side at the Olympics in Athens, has failed to make up his differences with Bologna coach Jasmin Repesa.
Pozzecco was suspended by his club earlier this year because of a rift with Repesa and was unable to take part in the subsequent Lega A play offs, which saw his team clinch the title.
Instead, he joined Spanish second division side Zaragoza on loan until the summer.
There was optimism that the 32-year-old would resolve his situation with the Italian champions, where he has played for the past three years and where he was still under contract for a further year.
"After three seasons, Fortitudo thanks Gianmarco Pozzecco and wishes him the best of luck in his future career," said a statement on the club's official website, www.fortitudo.it.
Pozzecco was among the big names Recalcati has included in his preliminary list for September's EuroBasket in Serbia & Montenegro.
The former Varese star is hopeful he will find a new team.
"I want to find a team that believes in me," said Pozzecco.
"I don´t mind at which level I play."
