Benetton Treviso have lost coach Ettore Messina to CSKA Moscow and point guard Massimo Bulleri to Armani Jeans Milano but Denis Marconato is not going anywhere.
Rumours have linked the Italy international with a move to Milano, but Benetton general director Maurizio Gherardini told the club's official website: "Marconato is our captain.
"He is one of the best in Europe and he is a fundamental part for Benetton.
"(Also) Considering that he still has one year left on his contract with this team, he will play next season in the Biancoverde colours."
Marconato, who turns 30 this month, is one of the most underrated players in Europe. The 2.11m center eats up space in the lane and also kills opponents with his mid-range jumpshot.
He made 62% (127 of 205) of his shots inside the arc in Lega A's regular season in 2004-05 and grabbed 6.6 rebounds per contest.
His performances were crucial last summer in Athens, too, when the Azzurri won the silver medal in the men's Olympic basketball tournament.
