PLAYER PROFILE

Massimo Bulleri

Career: Treviso (Italy-Lega, 1995-98), Forli (Italy-Legadue, 1998-99), Treviso (Italy-Lega, 1999-2005), Milano (Italy-Lega, 2005-07)

Bulleri was a key factor in two of Italy’s most recent medal winning efforts at EuroBasket 2005 and the 2004 Olympics. After a disappointing 2005 domestic season, Recalcati decided the point guard needed a break and though "Bullo" didn't like the idea at first, he soon accepted his temporary fate.  When Bulleri was called to play in an All-Star Game with the National Team in December 2006, his future became clearer and wearing an Azzurri shirt this summer was part of that. His second season in Milano included ups and downs and a never-ending series of minor injuries (knee, ankle, back) which are frustrating for a player who needs to be in good shape to really play his game well, run the fast break, create for himself, play the pick-and-roll and use screens to drive to the basket and finish in traffic.
