The 23-year-old Nikagbatse is one of the most promising youngsters to have hailed from Germany in recent years.

He made his debut with the senior national team at the age of 19 and helped Germany clinch the bronze medal at the Indianapolis World Championships in 2002.

Nikagbatse played in four of the six European qualifying games helping Germany secure a place in the upcoming EuroBasket 2005 in Serbia & Montenegro in September.

He is also expected to be included in Dirk Bauermann's final squad for the competition.

The former Olympiacos player spent last season with Lega A club Sedima Roseto, having previously helped German club Mitteldeutscher BC win the FIBA Europe Cup in the 2003-04 campaign.
