Fauthoux Warns Against Complacency

France vice-captain Frederic Fauthoux has urged his side not to get carried away after their hammering of the Czech Republic in Saturday's European Championship qualifier.

Claude Bergeaud's troops started their qualifying campaign on the wrong foot when they suffered a 77-61 loss to Slovenia in Celje last Wednesday.

But their comprehensive 89-56 win over the Czechs boosted the team's confidence ahead of their third clash with Poland on Wednesday.

Fauthoux said: "This victory came from a collective desire to improve.

"We managed to show them our level and put pressure on them right from the start.

"It was very important to win because a loss would have compromised our qualifying chances.

"It was a good match but we all know that following it up with a bad one would help no one - so we must remain concentrated."

France are now second in Group D behind Slovenia.

"The match against the Czech Republic was a very reassuring win, we showed a good tempo on which we should base our next matches," Mamoutou Diarra added.

"We managed to bounce back after our loss in Slovenia but we must not get carried away and concentrate fully on Poland."
