PLAYER PROFILE

Career: ASE Strasbourg (France-4th Div., 1999-2000), INSEP (France-3rd Div, 2000-03), LE MANS (France-Pro A, 2003-06).

Trained at INSEP, France’s main basketball player factory, Bokolo is a great athlete with a very good work ethic. Bokolo spent part of his childhood in Belgrade though he remembers little of it. Still he earned the nickname “Bokolovic”. In the fall of 2004 it was a bit of a surprise when the then 19 year-old made the final cut of the National Team for the Qualifying Round of EuroBasket 2003.  His refreshing, hard working and fearless attitude impressed the coaching staff and he almost doubled his stats for his club the following season (7.3 ppg). As a result, he drew interest from numerous NBA scouts and won a spot on the National Team for the 2006 World Championship. Bokolo won the French League with Le Mans last year, but struggled a bit this season in his first Euroleague experience (4.6 ppg).   A great defensive player, Bokolo is still learning to be an effective playmaker and needs to work on his outside shot.
