PLAYER PROFILE

Career: BVV Brno (Czech Republic-NBL, 1998-2003), A Plus Brno (Czech Republic-NBL, 2003-04), Atomeromu SE Paks (Hungary-A Division, 2004-07), BK Prostejov (Czech Republic-NBL, 2007)

A perennial fan favourite, Jan Pavlik is quick with the ball and has a tremendous pull-up jump shot. He is the kind of point guard capable of controlling tempo. A streaky shooter, he is capable of scoring 20 points by halftime. But he’s just as likely to miss the target and when things start to go wrong he runs away and solves the situation at the expense of his team. In 2004, he scored 15 points per game for A Plus Brno in the EuroCup. He then decided he needed a change and signed a thee-year contract in Hungary with Paks where he won two titles. Last January, Pavlik injured ligaments in his knee prompting him to return to the Czech Republic. He chose to sign in Prostejov. Heading into EuroBasket, his health is a big question mark.
