Career: Rogaska Donat (Slovenia-First division, 1995-96), Slovan Ljubljana (Slovenia-First division, 1996-1998), Bosna Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina - First Division, 1998-99); Slobodan Dita Tuzla (Bosnia-Herzegovina-First Division 1999-2001); Pivovarna Lasko (2001-02); Mitteldeutscher BC (Germany-First Division, 2002-03), Polonia Warbud Warszawa (Poland-PLK, 2003-05).
Another Mostar-born player, Samir Leric is a ten-year veteran of the national team and Belgrade will be his fifth EuroBasket. The versatile swingman started his international career back in 1995, when his side failed to qualify for the EuroBasket in Athens. He has been around since and is a valuable addition to coach Bajramovic's rejuvenated squad for Belgrade. Samir is an old-school small forward who can shoot, run the break and play some defense. Has been in Polonia Warszawa for the past two years, but with very limited playing time last season: 1.8 ppg and 1.0 rpg. Experienced his best basketball year, in 2001-02, when he averaged 11.3 pts and 4.0 rbds per game in the Slovenian league. Not the most talented guy in the world, but Samir has always responded when the national team called upon him. Usually, he has a big role in the qualifying campaigns (10.8 ppg in 1997), but sees his role decrease when the stars are back at EuroBasket Final Rounds (best scoring average: 7.3 ppg in 1999 and 2001).
