Career: Balkan Botevgrad (Bulgaria-Pro A, 1997-98), Partizan Belgrade (Serbia-Montenegro-Reserve Team, 1998-2000), Levski Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2000-04), Academic Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2004-…). At 2.14 m, Boyko Mladenov is the tallest player on the team. Despite his size, he is a very agile player, gifted with good ball-handling and shooting skills. Earlier in his career, he caught the attention of Serbian powerhouse Partizan Belgrade, where he stayed for two years, and of several NBA scouts. His name was mentioned for the 2003 Draft, but he finally did not get selected. At 24, Mladenov has not yet reached his full potential. Last season, in the ULEB Cup, he averaged 7.4 points (80.6% from the field !) and 4.3 rebounds per game in 17 minutes of action. A champion with Levski Sofia in 2001, he won his second national championship last season with Academic. |
