At 31, Dimitrov is the oldest and most experienced member of the national team. A forward gifted with real offensive talent, he was the second scorer in the Bulgarian league last season, averaging 23.2 points per game for Spartak Pleven. In the post-season, he helped his side reach the semi-finals and was the leading scorer in the playoffs (23.2 ppg). With the national team, his role is different, as Todor Stoykov carries most of the offensive burden. During the qualifying round, he averaged only 6.8 points per game but contributed in other areas of the game (3,5 rpg, 3,0 apg and 1.2 spg). He has won three national championships, one with Spartak Pleven (1995), and two with Levski Sofia (2000 and 01).
