Career: Samara (Russia-Superleague, 1998-99), CSK-Riko Kyiv (Ukraine-Superleague, 1999-2000), Azovmash Mariupol (Ukraine-Superleague, 2000-01), Yambolgaz Yambol (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2001-02), Budivelnik Kyiv (Ukraine-Superleague, 2002-05).
Viktor Kobzystyy truly made a name for himself during the last qualifying round for EuroBasket, finishing third in scoring and second in rebounding for the national team, including a 25-point, 10-11 shooting performance against Belgium... The former junior and university national team member came out of the shadow of playing for Budivelnik Kyiv, a dominant club in the early 90’s in Ukraine which is no longer fighting for the top spots in the Superleague… Kobzystyy did not have a very traditional career as he twice left his country. First to play with Samara in Russia and the second time to sign a contract with Yambolgaz Yambol in Bulgaria. There, he won the national championship and also appeared in the North European Basketball League, NEBL. |
