Ukraine: Zaschuk Names Squad For Friendlies

01.09.2005

Ukraine coach Hennadiy Zaschuk has left FC Azovmash Mariupol duo Kyrylo Fesenko and Yevgeniy Podorvannyy out of his squad for the forthcoming friendlies against France and Spain, according to the Sports-Express newspaper.

Zaschuk will be forced to trim his squad to just 12 players for this month's EuroBasket 2005 and his decision to drop both players could be an indication as to what his final selection could be.

Pau-Orthez small forward Artur Drozdov is also missing. He has been struggling for fitness and remains a doubt for the Eurobasket tournament.

Ukraine squad: Victor Kobzystyy, Ihor Kryvych, Rostyslav Kryvych, Serhiy Lischuk, Stanislav Balashov, Volodymyr Gurtovyy, Stanislav Medvedenko, Oleksiy Pecherov, Artem Butskyy, Volodymyr Koval, Andriy Lebediev, Olexander Rayevsky.
