Croatia center Mario Kasun will be out of action for three weeks after undergoing a catheterization in order to avoid future arrhythmias, his club side Barcelona has announced.

Kasun, a 2.13m tower of power who helped his national team reached the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in July with strong performances for Croatia at last year's EuroBasket, spent Saturday night in a Gran Canaria hospital after suffering from a cardiac arrhythmia.

He felt unwell during Barcelona's defeat on the Canary Islands and was held under observation in an intensive care unit.

Jasmin Repesa, the coach of Croatia, expressed his grave concern for Kasun on Tuesday.

"I hope he recovers as soon as possible," he said. "I am very sorry for Kasun. He is a great player."
