 Andrija Zizic

Career: Plastik Solin (Croatia-A-2, 1997-1998), Split (Croatia-A-1, 1998-2003), Cibona Zagreb (Croatia-A-1, 2003-05), F.C. Barcelona (Spain-ACB, 2004-05), Olympiakos Piraeus (Greece-ESAKE, 2005-07)

Zizic has a big, strong body, loves contact and is a solid rebounder. He is not a pretty player but after two excellent seasons at Olympiakos Piraeus, Zizic he could be a wild card for Repesa’s team. Prior to Olympiakos, the Split native spent a few months at Barcelona where he didn’t perform very well but showed his talent and potential in Cibona where he was the best player on the team. With each passing season, Zizic gained more confidence and experience and today is a capable scorer, a solid rebounder, a hard nosed defender and will surely bring his toughness and offensive finesse in the paint. Zizic is a lot alike Nikola Vujcic, a player from the famous Split basketball school. Zizic can hit the perimeter shot or jump hook and he is also an excellent free-throw shooter. Last season at Olympiakos was the best in his career so it will be interesting to see how he plays at EuroBasket 2007.
