PLAYER PROFILE

Career: KK Split (Croatia, 1995-96), Kantrida Rijeka (Croatia, 1996-98.), KK Split (Croatia, 1998-99),Galatasaray (Turkey, 1999-2000), Cibona Zagreb (Croatia, 2000-04), Alba Berlin (Germany, 2004-05).

All around player with a strong body; a good rebounder and shooter with 3 point range; can shut down opposition forwards and guards on defense; a role player. That's how one could sum up the Matej Mamic. He made his debut in Split, where he previously played for the juniors. After one professional season for the seniors, moved to Rijeka where he played for the local club for two seasons. Returned for one season to Split, only to join the Turkish team Galatasaray for one season. That season saw the blossoming of Mamic as a player: it was such a success that Croatian powerhouse Cibona signed him to a multiyear contract. Matej's last destination was Alba Berlin, where he will play his second season this autumn.
