 Paulius Jankunas

Career: Zalgiris-2 Kaunas (Lithuania-LKAL, 2002-03), Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania-LKL, 2003-07)

Paulius was a leader for the Lithuanian team that reached the finals of the U19 World Championship in 2003, averaging 12.3 points and 9.6 rebounds per contest. He was then a key player at the U20 2004 European Championship where he put up even better numbers with 12.5 points and 12.1 rebounds per game on his way to a bronze medal. And finally he helped his U21 team win the World Championship in 2005. The next step for Jankunas is to do the same with the senior side. Over the last couple of years, the Kaunus native has developed into a solid and reliable all-around forward who helped Zalgiris both in the Lithuanian League where he averaged 9.7 points and 5.0 rebounds per game while shooting 68% from the field. He put up similar numbers in the Euroleague. Has the reputation for being a hard-working and very coachable player, whose solid and steady game could be useful to the National Team for the next 10 years.
