Roberts Stelmahers

Career: Bonus Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1992-96), Broceni Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1996-98), Zielona Gora (Poland-PLK, 1998-99), Slask Wroclaw (Poland-PLK, 1999-2000), Pinar Karsiyaka (Turkey-TBL, 2000-01), Ülker Istanbul (Turkey-TBL, 2001-02), Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia-1A, 2002-04), Lietuvos rytas Vilnius (Lithuania-LKL, 2004-05).

The true leader of the national team. Four EuroBaskets under his belt and a strong Euroleague experience, Stelmahers can do it all for Latvia... He is a dangerous outside shooter and has fantastic court vision. Although it is not his natural position, he can easily play point-guard... Surprisingly, Stelmahers has not received the recognition he deserves in the eyes of the public. Probably the result of his low key personality, on and off the court. But General Managers across the Continent are fully aware of his quality. He was a key member of Olimpija Ljubljana which was one of the most surprising squads in the Euroleague in 2003 and 2004. Stelmahers won a championship in Poland, Slovenia and won the ULEB Cup this year with Lietuvos rytas... It has to be noted that he wore a USSR jersey as a cadet.
