Career: Skonto Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2001-04), Anwil Wloclavek (Poland-PLK, 2004-07).
Jahovics showed some scoring prowess at the U18 European Championships (16.9 ppg in 2002) and the U20 Championships as well (15.6 ppg in 2004), but since then has made a name for himself in Latvia as a very good team player. Jahovics is frequently given the job of locking down the opponents’ best player and he is an excellent rebounder. As the Latvian National Team traditionally has had problems at the forward positions, Jahovics made his debut with the senior team as soon as he turned 20. He played well as a back-up power forward but a serious achilles tendon injury prevented him from playing at EuroBasket 2005. After a long recovery process, Jahovics came back strong this season. EuroBasket will give him a good opportunity to take another step forward. |
