 Estonia: Pugonen Enjoys First Call-Up

28.06.2005

Estonia have called up Rakvere PK guard Sven Pugonen for the first time as they begin their preparations for the additional qualifying tournament for Eurobasket 2005.

Coach Tiit Sokk needed Pugonen for a training camp in Kuortane, Finland, with injuries having ruled out several other players.

Sokk is also hoping that Tanel Tein, who finished his season two weeks ago and is on holiday, will join the team towards the end of the training camp.

Estonia, who won just once in six games last year, are long shots to win the additional qualifying tournament.

They must win Group A over the Czech Republic and Poland and then beat the sides that finish top of Groups B and C in the second phase.
