Stephen Arigbabu has ended his international retirement to help Germany at EuroBasket 2007 following the withdrawal of Sven Schultze from the squad.

Schultze, a 2.06m sharp-shooting forward, had to pull out after doctors discovered he had an irregular pulse, and advised the player to return home for precautionary reasons.

Arigbabu, 35, called it a day after Germany's defeat to Greece in the EuroBasket 2005 gold medal game.

"After the loss of Sven, I thought about it and came to the conclusion that we needed more presence under the basket," said Germany coach Dirk Bauermann.

"And Stephen is the ideal man for that.

"He proved his international form very often and was immediately ready to help us and come to Mallorca."

Arigbabu has played 157 times for Germany.
