PLAYER PROFILE

Vedran Princ

Career: Zrinski Mostar (Bosnia-First Division, 2001-2002); Siroki-Brijeg Hercegtisak (Bosnia-First Division, 2002-...)

Vedran Princ is a born and bred Herzegovinian. In case you don't know, Herzegovina is a province in Bosnia which has produced famous basketball names such as Drazen Petrovic, Predrag Danilovic, Dejan Bodiroga, or more recently Zoran Planinic, and which is home to the tallest people in the world, according to official statistics dating from the nineties... That said, Princ is not your typical basketball player from Herzegovina. He measures "just" 1.90 m, just enough for the position he plays. Princ is no prince on the court, at least not yet: although he did show potential in last years' competitions, the Bosnian league and the Goodyear League, he was not the best player in his tea, Siroki-Brijeg Hercegtisak. Nevertheless, coach Bajramovic thinks he has potential - he is aggressive and dynamic, can shoot the ball, pass and play some defense. Nobody expects miracles from Vedran in his rookie outing, and he expects the EuroBasket in Belgrade to be a learning experience to build on for the future.
