BC Kyiv have signed up-and-coming point guard Artem Butskky to a 3-year contract.

The 23 year old Butskky joins Kyiv from Sumykhimprom, and is one of the first signings under new Sports Director Rany Kahana.

"After my contract with Sumy expired, the BC Kyiv front office representatives contacted me and have offered me to sign with them. I think that the move is a step forward for me. I will get a chance to participate in the European cups and the national team will be much closer.

"I am not scared of the competition. I know I will get a chance to learn a lot even during the practices," said Artem.

Butskiy is one of the most promising young players in Ukraine. He led the Superleague in assists per game (6.3) and was second in steals per game (2.2) in the 2004/2005 season. He is also a candidate for the national team which has qualified to EuroBasket 2005 in Serbia & Montenegro.
