Career: Plastik Solin (Croatia-2nd division, 2000-01), KK Split (Croatia, 2001-2005). Another nicely skilled player from the Split basketball school. Damir hasn't been considered a NBA candidatel due to lack of height and athleticism, but should become a very good player in Europe. Shooting is his trademark: he can fire at will, both coming of screens or off the dribble. Solid ball-handler, passer and defender. Grew up with Split and participated in all major competitions with Croatian national youth teams. Named MVP of the Croatian All Star Game last year, after finishing top scorer of the game. Moved to Cibona during the summer, after a bitter row with his long-time club Split. His new club thinks Rancic has a bright future and agreed to pay 100,000 euros for the transfer. |
