Filip Videnov

Career: Western Kentucky (NCAA, 1999-2003), Levski Sofia (Bulgaria-Pro A, 2003), KK Split (Croatia-A1, 2003), SLUC Nancy (France-Pro A, 2003-05). Has just signed with Tekelspor Istanbul (Turkey-1st Div.).

He was the only member of the national team to play in Western Europe last season. With his French side Nancy, he reached the final of the French playoffs, losing to Strasbourg, in Paris. With Nancy he won the "Semaine des As", a mid-season trophy that is the French version of Spain’s Copa del Rey. Last fall, for his first campaign with the national team, he achieved a tremendous qualifying round, affirming himself as Bulgaria’s second offensive threat (14.5 ppg and 4.0 rpg). Athletic, he can either drive the lane or shoot the three. A graduate from Western Kentucky (in 2003), he played for three different professional teams since his come-back in Europe. Last season, off the bench, he averaged 6.3 points (46.5% from the field) and 2.3 rebounds per game during the French Pro A regular season. He will play in Turkey next season.
