PLAYER PROFILE

Career: Broceni Riga (Latvia-LBL, 1999-2000), BK LMT Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2000-01), Skonto Riga (Latvia-LBL, 2001-03), Euphony Liège (Belgium-D1, 2003-04), Telekom Bonn (Germany-1.Bundesliga, 2004-05), Upea Capo d’Orlando (Italia-Lega, 2005-06), Fortitudo Bologna (Italia-Lega, 2006), Siviglia Wear Teramo (Italia-Lega, 2006-07)

At just 15, this young talent was a member of the Latvian U18 team and at 16 he became the second leading scorer in the U16 European Championship, averaging 23.5 points per game while also managing to steal some playing time at club side Broceni Riga. He can shoot from anywhere, especially when playing with confident partners like the Valters brothers. After a few years spent playing for Latvia’s leading clubs, Janicenoks graduated to a higher level in the European basketball market making his way to Belgium (11.3 ppg) and then Germany (14.3 ppg in ULEB Cup) before moving to Italian side Capo d’Orlando and finally Fortitudo last season. The Riga native was one of the leaders of the Latvian side during the qualifying round but unfortunately, coaching changes in Bologna hurt Janicenoks' playing time and he had to transfer to Teramo, where he averaged 12.1 ppg.
