Career: Aias Evosmou (Greece-3rd Division, 1994-97), Iraklis (Greece-ESAKE, 1997-2002), CSKA Moscow (Russia-Superleague, 2002-03), Panathinaikos (Greece-ESAKE, 2004-07)
Journalists have always said that Nikolaos Chatzivrettas is the “quiet power” of the National Team, a shooter and a scorer but mostly a player who puts the team above his ego. The 30-year-old is a great defender who cares little for the limelight, working hard in practice and giving 110 % on the court. Chatzivrettas is a close friend of teammate Dimos Dikoudis and was the best man in his wedding some years ago. The Thessaloniki native has won four Greek championships (2003-04-2006-07) and three cup titles with Panathinaikos (2005-2007), one Russian Superleague with CSKA (in 2003), and was the top scorer for ESAKE (22.2 ppg in 2001-02) while playing in Iraklis.
