 Giedrius Gustas

Career: Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania-LKL. 1997-2004). Rostov (Russia-Superleague. 2004-05).

The saddest moment of Gustas' career was a Euroleague game in 2004, when he had a pair of free throws to eliminate the eventual champion Maccabi Tel Aviv from the Final Four. With 9 seconds to play, he missed both and Derrick Sharp hit a desperate three-pointer at the buzzer. In 2005, he could not prevent the Romanian club of Ploiesti from beating his team (Rostov) in the final game of the FIBA Europe Cup (where he averaged 8.2ppg). But there have also bright moments in the career of this offensive-minded guard, who played several minutes at the "2 spot" last season. He was a member of the Lithuanian squad which won the 2003 EuroBasket. This solid defensive player has problems, sometimes, with his shot selection.
