Career: Milano (Italy-Lega, 1996-99), Ragusa (Italy-Legadue, 1999-2000), Milano (Italy-Lega, 2000), Reggio Emilia (Italy-Legadue, 2000-01), Milano (Italy-Lega, 2001-02), Siena (Italy-Lega, 2003), Reggio Emilia (Italy-Lega, 2003-05), Benetton Treviso (Italy-Lega, 2005-07) Mordente is a dream player for coaches as he is totally devoted to the team and able to have an impact on defense as well as offense with his quick shot off the dribble. A late bloomer, Mordente made his first appearance for his country at EuroBasket 2005 where he showed everybody that he was ready to compete at this level with his big heart and technical skills. His domestic history began at Milano. He then moved on to Reggio Emilia where he had his best season averaging 12.5 points per game in 2004-05. That success prompted Benetton to offer him a three-year contract. Initially a point-guard, he has moved to shooting guard because of his ability to read defenses. |
