Career: Buducnost Podgorica (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 1993-00), Efes Pilsen (Turkey-TBL, 2000-2001), Partizan Belgrade (Yugoslavia-YUBA, 2001-2002), Fortitudo Bologna (Italy-Lega, 2002-03), Partizan Belgrade (Serbia-Montenegro-YUBA, 2003-04), Panathinaikos (Greece-ESAKE, 2004-...)
Predictions say that his place in the Serbia-Montenegro team is unquestionable and with good reason. With Predrag Stojakovic’s decision to miss the championship, Scepanovic and the young Tripkovic are the only pure blooded shooters on the team. In any case, he had a good season, especially in the play-offs with Panathinaikos, a team lead by the Serbia and Montenegro coach, Zeljko Obradovic, who insisted on bringing Scepanovic to the club last summer. A tough back injury sidelined “Scepa” for several months in the season 2003-04, and he was thinking of quitting, but then he came back miraculously. In the play-off finals versus Hemofarm he scored a jumper at the buzzer that gave Partizan a third consecutive title. Scepanovic was the MVP of the 2001 EuroBasket final game, the last time Yugoslavia won gold. Colleague players gave him the nickname “Japanese”, and you can figure out why.
