PLAYER PROFILE

Career: Freiburg (Germany – Div. 2, 1996-97, Bundesliga 1997-98), ALBA Berlin (Germany – Bundesliga, 1998-00), Frankfurt Opel Skyliners (Germany – Bundesliga, 2000-05), Caja San Fernando Sevilla (Spain – ACB, 2005-…).

Robert Maras is a very big and strong center. Not the most skilled player ever, but with his body frame, Robert can be valuable on the floor. In the paint, he can occupy a large space underneath the basket. Maras is a very good defender and rebounder. His best season was in 2003-04, even though he only played 9 games, he averaged 14.3 points, 8.6 rebounds. In spite of his physical qualities, Robert might be a little too slow and rough to be very efficient at the top international level. Since 1998, he has not scored a three-pointer and his free-throw percentage has not gone past 70 % over the last four seasons. However, his shot selection during the game is most of the time excellent.
