Massimo Bulleri is to have surgery on his ankle after suffering a ligament injury on November 17.

Bulleri, the point guard in Italy's bronze-medal winning national team at EuroBasket 2003 and silver-medalist at the Athens Olympics, has endured an injury-riddled three seasons at Armani Jeans Milano.

"Bulleri will undergo surgery on Tuesday to reconstruct ligaments in his right ankle," the club confirmed.

The 30-year-old, who played at the EuroBasket this summer in Spain, will not return to action until next year.
